What Is KP?
Keratosis Pilaris, also known as 'chicken skin' is the appearance of small, hard, red bumps that cause the skin to feel rough and dry, sometimes with redness or swelling that can be uncomfortable. Bumps tend to appear on the backs of the arms, but can also show up on the thighs, bum and in some cases, the face. Despite a serious-sounding name, Keratosis Pilaris is completely harmless.
