Keratosis Pilaris Explained - KP Skin Causes, Symptoms & Treatment
Keratosis pilaris, also known as 'chicken skin' or 'KP', is the appearance of small, hard, red bumps that cause the skin to feel rough and dry. It can also result in redness or swelling that can be uncomfortable. Bumps tend to appear on the back of arms but can also show up on the thighs, bum and, in some cases, the face. Despite a serious-sounding name, though, keratosis pilaris is completely harmless.
